GOP Mistakes, Social Justice Oxy-morons & Women’s decisions that effect ME.

A Few Names in the News.

I REALIZE there are perfectly decent Republicans who still hold out hope that, through divine or not so divine intervention, Santorum, Gingrich or Paul, will wind up being the GOP nominee. I have no doubt that years ago, they were perfectly decent children who believed in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy. So while I hate to destroy anyone’s delusions, I think it is high time that the RNC grew up and faced reality.

For openers, if this primary season has taught us anything, it’s that the GOP needs to address its laundry list of mistakes. One, they should do away with caucuses; if a state doesn’t wish to stage an actual primary for whatever reason, they should just sit it out. Are you listening, Iowa?

Two, let’s put an end to open primaries. Why would Republicans want Democrats helping to decide who our nominee is going to be? Do you really think they have our best interests at heart?

Three, let’s stop putting Iowa and New Hampshire at the head of the parade. In a general election, neither state is all that important, but because they come first, the nation has to focus on them for weeks, even months, at a time. And no more punishing states like Florida and Michigan for wanting to move up the dates of their primaries. Instead, have a start date; say January 15th, and then allow each state to determine when they want to hold their primary. If they all decide on January 16th, so be it. At least we wouldn’t have to drag these things on endlessly.

Finally, assuming all the primaries wouldn’t take place on the same date, candidates who don’t achieve a certain level of support would be excluded from future ballots. As I write this, there have been nearly 30 primaries or caucuses, and thus far Gingrich has won two and Paul, who is making his third run, has once again won none. There is no good reason that they should continue to be regarded as serious candidates, in just the same way that a bunch of wannabes looking to garner some publicity have no business clogging up the debates. I mean, seriously, did anyone, including his daughters, ever really believe that Jon Hunstman was going to be the nominee?

As long as I’m busy making rules, I would like to make a rule that nobody ever again be tried for a hate crime. A crime is a crime, and whether the victim is a black, a Hispanic or a homosexual, should not make the punishment any more severe than if the victim is a WASP. One can safely assume that every crime is hateful to the victim. People who favor concentrating on “hate” rather than “crime” are the same noodle-heads who are unaware that “social justice” is an oxymoron. Justice doesn’t call for adjectives. Once they’re added on, it ceases to be justice, which is why Lady Justice is always pictured blindfolded and why Martin Luther King pleaded for a colorblind society.

Not too long ago, I saw Rosie O’Donnell and Angelica Houston on TV sticking up for Sandra Fluke, and pretending on Obama’s behalf that mandating contraception and abortion for employees of Catholic entities is not actually an infringement on religious freedom, but is all about women’s health.

In their discussion, they parroted the old line about men having no business being involved in women’s reproductive freedom. Even if we ignore the fact that men are fathers, brothers and boyfriends, whose own lives will be greatly affected because of the decisions made by women, by what stretch of the imagination do these two women — one a 50 year old lesbian, the other a 60 year old who has all the reproductive freedom she could possibly want, thanks to Mother Nature — have commenting on things that don’t involve them?

I recently got word that over 50,000 people have been killed in Mexico over the past five years. At about the same time, I learned that Malia Obama had been vacationing in Mexico with some of her school chums.

I must confess it surprised me that her mother, who seems overly concerned that your kids are eating an occasional cupcake, would send her child to a place that makes Kandahar seem as safe as Lincoln’s bedroom.

Then I heard that the kids were accompanied by 15 Secret Service agents! That’s 15 –count them–- 15!

The first thing that occurred to me was that I helped pay for that kid’s vacation.

The second thing that occurred to me was, like mother, like daughter.

Artist Jon McNaughton Depicts Obama With Burning Constitution

Provo, Utah (CBSDC) – Jon McNaughton, a controversial artist who often mixes religion and politics in his work, has released a new painting.

In “One Nation Under Socialism,” President Obama holds the U.S. Constitution as it burns.

While McNaughton previously depicted Obama stepping on the nation’s founding document, “One Nation Under Socialism” glowers directly as if challenging the viewer. His right hand is holding the Constitution and his left hand is pointing to the flames.

McNaughton tells CBSDC that the hands “represents his recognition of what is happening (to the Constitution) as it goes up.”

“There are numerous symbols and subtleties in this painting, and I’m not ready to reveal all of them,” McNaughton said.

CBSDC contacted Jerry Saltz, an art critic for New York Magazine, about the painting.

RELATED: Poll Finds Va. Voters Favor Obama Over GOP Candidates

When asked for an opinion, Saltz said that the painting contained “bad academic derivative realism,” calling it “typical propaganda art, drop-dead obvious in message” and “visually dead as a doornail.”

“It panders and preaches to the converted and tells them what they already believe,” Saltz told CBSDC.

Saltz said the painting could not be compared to WWII art.

“It has no graphic power of its own. It simply attempts to crawl into the body of that sort of illustration.”

When asked if removed a few years from Obama’s presidency could the work be then viewed as art, Saltz said the work is “inverted, with an American as an enemy — Hitler, Tojo, Stalin, whoever.”

“It’s much closer to the hate images produced in Germany pre-1939, in 1950s USA Red scare, in the USA around Jim Crow, etc.”

Whether stale or arresting, the painting turned McNaughton’s Facebook page into a battleground, where comments are flying from both political adversaries.

McNaughton acknowledges that his latest piece “has brought out more feelings among those on both the right and left than my other previous political paintings.”

Although President Obama is the focal point of the painting and he is the one holding the Constitution, McNaughton insists that he does not “presume to suggest that he was the lone culprit responsible.”

But despite the bickering, McNaughton hopes that he will get the “public talking about what the painting represents. Is Obama pushing a Socialist agenda on the American people?”

He hopes his art will get people to answer such questions.

“People need to start talking, and the conversation is about to get heated,” he said.

As with his other works, McNaughton released a video on YouTube detailing “One Nation Under Socialism.”

In the voice over, McNaughton says, “This is my pledge. I pledge allegiance to the United States of America and not to an ideology that could never stand: one nation — under socialism — divisive with no liberty or justice for anyone.”

‘Conservative’ Movies Make More Money Than ‘Liberal’ Movies – But So What – says Hollywood

Patriotism and traditional values, like those displayed in “Thor,” “The Artist,” “Soul Surfer” and “Hugo,” are what moviegoers want, says a group that will honor such films at an awards gala Friday.

Wanna make money in Hollywood? Release patriotic movies that promote conservative values and do not denigrate Christianity.

For two decades, that has been the message Movieguide has been pushing, and on Friday, Feb. 10, when it celebrates its 20-year anniversary with an awards show airing on The Hallmark Channel, the organization will present a 76-page report designed to back up its assertions.

This year’s report sells for $1,000, and the price includes tickets to the annual Faith & Values Awards Gala held at the Universal Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. The report praises such 2011 releases as Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, Battle: Los Angeles, Moneyball, We Bought a Zoo and Hugo while heaping scorn on the likes of Super 8, Red State, A Good Old Fashioned Orgy, We Need to Talk About Kevin, Bad Teacher and Happy Feet Two.

The Movieguide report rates movies using more than two dozen criteria, such as whether a title promotes capitalism or socialism or if it promotes or denigrates biblical principles. Violence, sex, political correctness, revisionist history, environmentalism, feminism, homosexuality and more hot-button political issues all are taken into consideration.

This year’s report concludes that seven of the top 10 films of 2011 scored high on Movieguide’s index and therefore qualify as films with “strong or very strong Christian, biblical, moral and redemptive content.”

PHOTOS: 10 Hollywood Players Who Will Make a Difference in the 2012 Elections

Movieguide identified 91 movies in 2011 that scored high in “conservative/moral categories”; these earned an average of $59 million apiece. On the other hand, it identified 105 movies that scored high in “liberal/leftist categories”; each of those titles earned an average of just $11 million.

The average movie scoring four stars from Movieguide earned $53.5 million while the ones that scored just one star earned $10.6 million.

Exceptions abound, of course, notable ones being The Hangover Part II and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, hit movies that earned $581 million and $702 million worldwide, respectively, but are panned by Movieguide as films that promote “fringe worldviews” and “obscene behavior.”

“Most moviegoers want good to conquer evil, truth to triumph over falsehood, justice to prevail over injustice and true beauty to overcome ugliness,” Movieguide editor Ted Baehr writes in the report.

Friday’s awards gala, where the report will be made public, is hosted by Baehr, sponsored by the Christian Film & Television Commission and will be emceed by actor Dean Cain. Scheduled presenters include Joe Mantegna, Corbin Bernsen, Kevin Sorbo and Pat Boone.

Nominees for best movie for mature audiences are:

Vice President Joe Biden Set To Visit ‘On Air with Ryan Seacrest’

by Jeffers M. Dodge January 17, 2012

On Monday, January 23,  “American Idol” host and radio personality Ryan Seacrest“ will welcome special guest Vice President Joe Biden.

Joe will  answer questions submitted by college students, according to an announcement online. The veep will be on at 7 am PST.

After examining Seacrest’s website I noticed he leans a little to the Left however, Seacrest tweeted on Tuesday: “Throughout 2012, I’m welcoming political leaders from all points of the spectrum.”

Here are my hard core Real American Idol questions:

Ask him why tuition is so high? Ask him about the relationship between the college administer using the knowledge that Big Government guarantees any increase in tuition that it gets from student loans as long as the college tows the line in regards to the Liberal ideology. Have you ever wondered why teachers, professors and administrators are mostly Liberal and less than 5% are Conservative? Tuition is high because wages and benefits are paid indirectly through the government and no set by Free Market competition.

Ask him who is more likely to vote to reelect he and Obama: Private sector employees or government workers? Ask him the relationship between Big Government and Poverty? Or in other words, who is most likely to vote for he and Obama, the poor, who are dependent on Big Government welfare, or workers who are sick and tired of being taxed too much? Ask him why there are less jobs when he and Obama came into office and contrast that to when Bush was president during most of his term the country was ‘fully employed”? (Until the Democrats took over congress.)

Ask Joe about the 12 million illegal immigrants that live in the shadow economy and how they contribute to the income disparity that is the cause célèbre. Ask him how many government services they receive and who they would vote for and why. He will drop the word ‘illegal’ and tell you that Republicans hate immigrants not ‘illegal’.

Ask him about the Public Employee Union Bosses who after “taxing” the rank and file contributes their money to the ‘Democrat in the race’ knowing that once in office the Donkey will do anything for the Unions including legislating pay hikes despite the fact that the wages and perks are higher than the average private sector equivalent and they have bankrupted the treasury of many municipalities run by Democrats.

Before you interview him, research solutions given by the Republican candidates and ask him to contrast Obama’s solutions to the same issues. Listen carefully to his answer. He will not address the question directly; he will instead besmirch the Republican Party as a whole or personally attack the front-runner in particular. He will never argue the merits of their ideas and he will never give you an alternative solution unless it is a solution that the Republicans have already introduced. This is because Obama does not have solutions that make sense to the average person. I am talking common sense solutions that don’t take extreme verbal acrobatics and 1000 words to explain. No, Biden will only tell you about how Republicans are going to end Medicare, food stamps and all the programs designed by the Left to enslave the poor, instead of telling you how the Republicans ended slavery in America and more recently ended slavery in Iraq and Afghanistan. Or how Republicans are the ‘conservers’ of the Constitution, defenders of the Free Market and define greed as when politicians vote to take money and property from a working successful citizen and gives it to another to buy their votes.

Listen carefully how Joe describes Americans. He will describe them in groups that are being unfairly treated by the rich, and when he talks about jobs he is really talking about government jobs, and when he says “Most Americans believe” this or that, he is really talking about those that are dependent on Big Government or the Liberal Elite not those that are independent of Big Government like myself and you, Mr. Seacrest.

Just remember the story of the Cycle of Marx: In order for Big Government to pay for the needs of the poor it needs to tax those that are successful. The more the successful are taxed the less money they have to spend at the local business. The more businesses are taxed the less money they have to hire employees. The result is not only higher unemployment but more dependency on Big Government and the more money it needs to pay for the needs of the unemployed poor. Eventually, Big Government cannot tax anymore so they borrow money from other countries adding interest charges to the cost of paying for the needs of the poor. Eventually, Big Government can no longer afford to borrow any longer because interest payments are to high so they deiced to print money to pay for the needs of the poor. However, printing money causes a devaluation of the dollar, which in turn cause prices to rise. Higher prices in rent, food and energy causes more people to slip below the poverty line making them eligible for government assistance.  So the “Cycle of Marx” starts all over again all because you voted for the American Idol that has great charisma, looks and speaks well.

Steve Jobs dead: Apple boss left plans for 4 years of new products | Mail Online

Despite knowing he was dying, Steve Jobs worked for more than a year on the products that he believed would safeguard the company’s future.

It was also revealed today that Jobs fought hard to get plans approved for a spaceship-style company headquarters in California.

It will be big enough to hold 12,000 employees in a park-like setting near the existing base in Cupertino. He appeared at a town council meeting in June to plead for the planning go ahead.

Steve Jobs: Ex-Apple CEO Dies

Steve Jobs, the mastermind behind Apple’s iPhone, iPad, iPod, iMac and iTunes, has died, Apple said. Jobs was 56.

“We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today,” read a statement by Apple’s board of directors. “Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve. His greatest love was for his wife, Laurene, and his family. Our hearts go out to them and to all who were touched by his extraordinary gifts.”

The homepage of Apple’s website this evening switched to a full-page image of Jobs with the text, “Steve Jobs 1955-2011.”

Jobs co-founded Apple Computer in 1976 and, with his childhood friend Steve Wozniak, marketed what was considered the world’s first personal computer, the Apple II.
